A Big Love Campaign

This little cutie is so close to having the way she lives and breathes changed forever, all thanks to all you who have loved and supported her through a heart wrenching but amazing journey, even though we are so so close we still need your help !!!

Your gift of love will be a gift that will last a life time

Hello folks. I have been doing some writing for a woman who has the most incredible story, and now her and her family need some big love.

Due to infertility issues resulting from cancer, Kylie traveled to India to realize her dream of having a family through surrogacy.

Her two baby girls, Namaeya and Hati, came into the world by caesarian section on May 10, 2013, weighing in at 2.2 lbs and 1.6 lbs. They were 12 weeks premature.

Hati has had a variety of health issues, including a tracheostomy. She has congenital varicella, causing scarring to her liver, kidney, and eyes. Although she has exceptional functional vision, she is classified as legally blind. She also has periventrical Laukomalacia.

She has spent her first two and a half years labeled as Failure to Thrive and has a gastronomy tube to feed, a tracheostomy for subglottic stenosis, epiglottic collapse, and occasional seizures. In the medical world they call her condition, complex.

Hati requires 24 hour care, frequent hospital admissions, and has undergone numerous surgeries. On a dime, she can become acutely unwell. Even a common cold can cause respiratory distress and threaten her life.

Hati has fought for every single breath, every day, for the last three years. She spent the first 6 months of her life in hospital. She was 4 months old the first time that her mom ever held her in her arms. NICU was just the start of a long, gruelling, and heart-wrenching journey that still continues today.

She has not been able to simply be a child. She cannot join playgroups, and visitors are at a minimum. Her mom, kylie doesn’t take her out to shops or on normal child outings due to risk of infection and overnight visits to family and friends are just too risky and difficult to manage.

Kylie’s life’s passion is family and her vision from the beginning has been to simply be a mom to her children and to enjoy life with them as a family. The only thing that matters to Hati’s mom and her family is getting Hati out of danger and to a life without a tracheostomy. Kylie’s heart’s desire is to see her and Namaeya running full of joy and antics with the other kids and looking forward to making their own dreams come true.

How can you help?

There is treatment available in India that would make a huge difference. It could be lifesaving, as well as see Hati tracheostomy-free.

The treatment is Stem Cell.

They have been doing Stem Cell treatment in India for over 10 years. It is a cell regeneration treatment. Hati would undergo a procedure that would include – MSC cells collected from her bone marrow and then injected into the areas of the airway that need help. She would also undergo a gastronomy tube weaning programme in an attempt to be G tube free. We would then return to Australia.

Our Little Girl Seeks BIG LOVE campaign makes that possible for Hati. Your donations, along with public sharing through social media, email, and your email contact list, can and will make that real.

This is Kylie’s family and they are strong. Hati’s spirit, Namaeya’s devotion, and Kylie’s belief in her precious family has already transcended and defied a hopeless prognosis. Her two little miracles are a shining example of how love, vision, and passion can rule over the darkness.

If there is anything you can do to support our Little Girl Seeks BIG LOVE campaign we will be forever grateful.

From our family to yours, we thank you in advance.

The Page is Up

The-Magical-Dream

The page is up on facebook.  I’ve started Local Folks Helping Local Folks, a page where people from Ottawa and surrounding area can go to check out what others in their city are doing to help out our neighbors who are homeless or low income.

The page will highlight upcoming events that people can plan their outings around, allowing them to do good things for others while having fun.  I am hoping that people will think about checking out Local Folks Helping Local Folks before heading out for dinner, or out with the kids for the day to see if there are restaurants or events happening that contribute to others in our city.

Whether you are from Ottawa, Ontario or not I hope you go and check out this page.  It could inspire you to do something similar in your community or to consider what businesses are contributing to the well-being of their local neighbors before planning that shopping trip, dinner out, or Saturday outing with the family.

I truly believe that there are many caring people out there who just need some great ideas on how to contribute and a place to find those ideas, and although the focus of Local Folks Helping Local Folks is primarily those with income issues, there are many great ways to get out and bring relief and cheer to those who are experiencing struggle.  In fact, it can be downright easy, even fun, once you see how many initiatives are actually taking place in your own community.

Go and check out the page on facebook.  It is only in it’s beginning stages, but I’m looking forward to watching it grow.  Local Folks Helping Local Folks.

Local Folks helping Local Folks

Hello folks.  It’s quite beautiful here in Ottawa today.  The sun has been out all day and it is just crisp enough to keep the skating rinks open.  I am not a great fan of winter, but a nice day is a nice day.

I have made a decision today to start a face book page called Local Folks helping Local Folks.  It will be a page that will feature events and happenings around Ottawa that help out homeless and low-income folks living in Ottawa.

For example, if a local restaurant is putting on a special event that raises funds for others, I will post that news so that when people are trying to decide where to go for dinner, they may choose that restaurant because it is a win-win for everybody. Or, if a local business is promoting a service or product and donating some of the sales or time to a local charity, then I will post that in order to get people out to that business.  Win-win.

I love this idea and I came up with it because I have been doing some volunteering and have become aware of just how many good things are actually happening around Ottawa to help out those with less money, less mobility, and such.  I have also discovered, though, that there is not a lot of awareness out there of these events, these happenings.

I know, from personal experience, that when you are having a tough time of it, the world around you can seem pretty cold and uncaring.  I also know, that if you are not having a tough time of it, you can be unaware of what others may be going through and fall into the trap of blaming people for their circumstances.  I would like to use that face book page to break down that communication barrier.

I have found that when people become aware of how many ways they can help out, they are enthusiastic and really enjoy participating.  I also know that when those of us who are having a tough time see that many people do want to make life better and easier for others, it can shed light into the darkness, boost self-esteem, create more trust, and it goes on.

I will get this page set up, even sparsely, within the next couple of days and I will let you all know when it is up so that you can go over there and visit.  Check it out and see what great people are the folks in Ottawa, Ontario.

Who knows, maybe it will inspire.

Hello again everybody, I have some news for you!

I have set my shop back up again on this blog!  It is called Mottyl’s Muses.  So far, I’ve stocked it with books, Kindle readers and accessories, and, yes, lovely kitchen gadgets you can use for bedazzling your family and friends with your kitchen wizardry.

I will eventually add music, maybe some bath supplies, and to make the day complete, some bar supplies.  Why not, we deserve it, right?!

I am offering this as an Amazon Affiliate because every blogger needs an income to pay for the coffee and beverages and the chocolate – let’s not forget the chocolate.

I truly hope you head on in to Mottly’s Muses and lose yourself in the bookstore or maybe plan your next dinner party.  You will be supporting a good cause – a fellow blogger.

You can find the shop by clicking on the “Let’s Go Shopping” link on the menu or the link in the footer or by clicking here:

You will notice me posting the odd favorite product on my blog just to get you itching to head in to Mottyl’s Muses.

Happy shopping and blogging everybody!

NaNo NaNo

Okay folks, I have just been inspired by a blogger here on wordpress to sign up for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWrimo) for next November’s writing challenge.

I will start by thanking that blogger for the inspiration, I think. I say that for a number of reasons but I’ll start with two.

The first reason is that I can barely commit to an appointment these days let alone something as big as writing a novel. I am in start over mode and not that gung ho at my age.

The second reason is that I am not even sure if I can write anymore. I used to be able to write but I was young and naïve. This means that I was eager, enthusiastic, keen, and visionary. These days, not so much, but here goes.

I hereby announce that next November 2015 I will write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days! There, I’ve done it. Not only have I actually signed up for it, I’ve said it out loud here on this blog.

Thank you fellow blogger, I think.

I want to say thanks to those people who have already liked and chosen to follow my blog.  It is very encouraging considering that I haven’t really provided anything for anyone to enjoy yet.  It makes me feel that you all know what it’s like getting started and are curious about what I have to say.

Very motivating and much appreciated.  Thank you.

Lucky me, I’ve started this blog during one of the best and worst times of the year, Christmas time.  I am truly new to this so it will take me awhile to get it right but in the meantime you will all be on this journey with me.
